Todo listo en el Santo Cerro para recibir a miles de feligreses en el Día de Las Mercedes

DIARIO ULTRAMAR, LA VEGA, RD..- El Santuario Nacional Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes, ubicado en el Santo Cerro, está preparado para recibir a miles de devotos que participarán en las celebraciones en honor a la Virgen de las Mercedes, patrona de la República Dominicana.
Las actividades comenzarán este lunes con una vigilia dedicada a la Virgen, y continuarán el martes 24 de septiembre, fecha oficial de la festividad, con seis celebraciones eucarísticas. Los fieles acudirán en masa para ofrecer actos de acción de gracias y elevar sus plegarias a la Virgen.
El párroco del Santo Cerro, el sacerdote Porfirio Espinal, destacó que la fe sigue siendo muy fuerte entre los creyentes, y se espera la asistencia de miles de personas. Para garantizar la seguridad y el orden, se ha desplegado un equipo de organismos de socorro, agentes policiales y personal de seguridad turística.
En los alrededores del santuario, vendedores de imágenes religiosas, rosarios y comestibles ya se han instalado, anticipando una alta demanda de productos durante la celebración.
Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes, venerada desde 1615, sigue siendo un símbolo de devoción que reúne a personas de todo el país y el extranjero.
