Presidente Abinader crea Comisión Dominicana del Plátano

Disposición intensifica apoyo a la producción del plátano. El gobierno asegura que significará generación de empleos, creación de políticas públicas e incentivos en beneficio de los productores. Además del incremento de la comercialización del plátano en el mercado local e internacional.
SANTO DOMINGO, RD. – El presidente de la República, Luis Abinader, emitió este martes el Decreto núm. 62-24, que crea la Comisión Dominicana del Plátano (Codoplatano), como comisión interministerial, la cual tendrá por finalidad apoyar de manera conjunta al sector agropecuario dedicado a la producción y comercialización del plátano, así como asesorar al presidente en la elaboración de políticas públicas que fomenten su cultivo, producción, comercialización, procesamiento y exportación.
Codoplatano está integrada por los ministros de Agricultura; Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales; Industria, Comercio y Mipymes; los administradores del Banco Agrícola y Banco de Reservas; los directores del Indhri, Inespre, CEI-RD e IAD; el presidente de la Asociación Dominicana de Productores de Plátanos (Codoplatano) y dos representantes de las cooperativas o asociaciones de productores de plátanos de las diez regiones del país.
Con esta disposición, el Poder Ejecutivo intensifica el apoyo a la producción del plátano, lo que significará para el pueblo dominicano la generación de empleos, la creación de políticas públicas e incentivos en beneficio de los productores y el incremento de la comercialización del plátano en el mercado local e internacional.

Del mismo modo, la creación de Codoplatano responde activamente a las alertas económicas que apuntan a un incremento del consumo de plátano. En esta ocasión, ofrece una oportunidad para que la República Dominicana se constituya en una fuente estable y segura de comercialización de plátanos. El gobierno promete la aplicación de nuevas prácticas de buen manejo del cultivo y la sostenibilidad medioambiental requerida para hacer de la actividad una más competitiva en el mercado exterior.
Esta decisión del presidente Abinader representa un paso determinante en beneficio del sector agrícola dominicano. Sus productores contarán con una vía más efectiva para externar sus preocupaciones sobre el sector. Esto permitirá al gobierno ejecutar políticas públicas más eficientes, apegadas a la realidad y en mayor provecho de la nación.
