Gobierno coordina acciones ante los efectos de huracán Beryl

SANTO DOMINGO, RD.- El presidente Luis Abinader encabezó este domingo una reunión de coordinación con las principales instituciones, ministerios y direcciones generales del gobierno ante la amenaza del huracán Beryl, categoría 4, que estaría pasando al Sur de la República Dominicana este martes.
El mandatario afirmó que las medidas urgentes son salvar vidas y trabajar en coordinación con las entidades gubernamentales.
“Lo principal ahora mismo y las medidas urgentes son salvar vidas. Vamos a tomar medidas especiales para viviendas en lugares vulnerables con el Ministerio de Defensa y la Dirección de la Policía y en coordinación con los gobiernos locales, los ayuntamientos y también en el caso del Gran Santo Domingo con la CAASD”, afirmó.
“Las viviendas en lugares vulnerables, especialmente en cañadas, vamos a actuar para salvarle la vida a ellos mismos y a sus familias”, apuntó el jefe de Estado.
Expuso que la reunión con la presencia de los alcaldes del Gran Santo Domingo y también de la Liga Municipal Dominicana, es para coordinar las acciones con los municipios del sur del país y especialmente dos provincias, que son Barahona y Pedernales, que con la trayectoria actual estarían recibiendo lluvias y algunos vientos.
Informó además que, toda la prevención está siendo coordinada entre las diferentes instituciones tales como ministerios, direcciones generales, ayuntamientos y organismos de socorro.
El gobernante apuntó que espera que continúe el curso que actualmente tiene el huracán Beryl, el cual solo dejaría muchas lluvias en el territorio nacional, sin afectar directamente.
Abinader expresó que ante la peligrosidad del huracán Beryl han tomado medidas de cautela y prevención, a pesar de no estar en dirección directa hacia la República Dominicana.
Recomendó a la población seguir las recomendaciones del Centro de Operaciones y Emergencias (COE) para que puedan estar alertas a cualquier variación del trayecto del fenómeno atmosférico.
El presidente Abinader indicó que se mantendrán en sesión permanente de prevención y aclaró que hasta la fecha el huracán Beryl no tocará suelo dominicano, pero pasará al Sur de la República Dominicana.
Asimismo, dijo que es su responsabilidad y de cualquier gestión responsable tener una precaución en caso de que cambie el trayecto del huracán.
