Al menos seis reclusos en el hospital tras incendio en La Victoria

SANTO DOMINGO, RD.- El director de la Unidad de Quemados que funciona en el Hospital Ney Arias Lora, Eddy Bruno Vizcaíno, informó este lunes que son seis los afectados en el fuego en la penitenciaría de La Victoria.
«De estos 6 pacientes, hay 5 que nosotros con la evaluación encontramos que uno tiene el 2% de la superficie corporal quemada, otro solo 1%», explicó.
El doctor Bruno indicó que si todos estos estudios salen sin problemas, los dos pacientes con quemaduras podrían ser tratados de manera ambulatoria y junto a los demás, ser despachados en las próximas horas.
«Todos tienen un componente inhalatorio que está siendo manejado con oxigenoterapia… dependiendo si tienen parámetros normales podrán ser regresados en 3 o 4 horas», añadió.
Vizcaíno dijo que «llegó un paciente fallecido, sin lesiones por quemaduras pero si con una gran inhalación, que hasta que se demuestre lo contrario, murió por una intoxicación por monóxido de carbono».
Hasta el momento se desconoce cuál fue la causa del incendio.
