Oaci – Idac organizan en RD evento global de la aviación civil internacional.

DIARIO ULTRAMAR, SANTO DOMINGO, RD.- El III Simposio Mundial de Apoyo a la Implementación de la Organización de Aviación Civil Internacional (Giss, por sus siglas en inglés), se llevará a cabo en la comunidad turística de Punta Cana, del 30 de abril al 2 de mayo del 2024, con la participación prevista de 95 países.
Al ofrecer la información, el director general del Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil, Idac, Héctor Porcella, resaltó que se trata de uno de los eventos de mayor trascendencia de la Oaci, siendo la primera vez que habrá de celebrarse en el Continente Americano.
De acuerdo a Porcella, la elección de la República Dominicana como sede de este encuentro es un reconocimiento a la creciente importancia del país en el ámbito de la aviación mundial.
Porcella destacó que el comité organizador ha cursado invitaciones oficiales al Presidente de la República, Luis Abinader, para que presida la ceremonia inaugural. También han sido invitados el Ministro de Turismo, David Collado, y otros altos funcionarios y representantes del sector aeronáutico y empresarial dominicano.
Bajo la dirección y coordinación del Presidente de la Oaci, Salvatore Sciacchitano, y del Secretario General, Juan Carlos Salazar, con el apoyo del propio Porcella en su calidad de Director General de la organización anfitriona, el simposio tiene como objetivo mostrar las últimas herramientas digitales desarrolladas por la Oaci. También pondrá de relieve las principales iniciativas y esfuerzos de colaboración de la organización para reforzar la resiliencia de la aviación, impulsar la innovación, promover el desarrollo sostenible y ofrecer nuevas soluciones operativas.
Bajo el lema «Optimizar la capacidad de la aviación: Estrategias para cielos seguros y un futuro sostenible«, los paneles interactivos profundizarán en actividades cruciales de apoyo a la implementación y desarrollo de capacidades. Los temas abarcarán desde el desarrollo de infraestructuras aeroportuarias modernizadas hasta la respuesta y preparación ante las crisis, la movilidad aérea avanzada y el papel del transporte aéreo en el crecimiento del turismo.
El simposio abordará además temas clave de la formación aeronáutica, explorando la importancia de las tecnologías emergentes para impulsar proyectos de capacitación eficaces, así como la formación basada en competencias, para desarrollar una mano de obra cualificada y adaptable a las demandas del futuro.
Los debates también se centrarán en la iniciativa “Finvest Hub” propuesta por la Oaci, que hace hincapié en la necesidad de aumentar la colaboración entre el sector de la aviación y las instituciones financieras, para cumplir el objetivo de descarbonizar la aviación para 2050.
Además de participar en debates con expertos en aviación, los Estados miembros tendrán la oportunidad de explorar los últimos productos y servicios del sector, de la mano de patrocinadores y expositores.
El simposio está abierto a todas las entidades relacionadas con la aviación, incluidos Ministerios, Direcciones Generales de Aviación Civil, organizaciones internacionales y regionales, proveedores de servicios de aviación, instituciones financieras y de desarrollo, instituciones académicas, socios industriales y otras partes interesadas.
