Gobierno entrega artículos del hogar a familias afectadas por disturbio tropical en SDO

DIARIO ULTRAMAR, SANTO DOMINGO, RD. – Tras un riguroso levantamiento en Santo Domingo Oeste, el Gobierno distribuyó este fin de semana diferentes artículos para el hogar a familias necesitadas.
La entrega se realizó a los dignificados por el disturbio tropical del pasado sábado 18 de noviembre que azotó con fuerza a esa demarcación.
Unas 297 familias se beneficiaron de la entrega de 514 artículos del hogar.
La entrega la ejecutaron equipos conformados por diversas instituciones del Gobierno, bajo la coordinación del Programa Supérate y del Instituto Nacional de Bienestar Estudiantil (Inabie).
Gloria Reyes, directora general del programa “Supérate” y Víctor Castro, director ejecutivo del Inabie detallaron que las familias beneficiadas recibieron 141 neveras, 135 camas, 108 estufas, 75 muebles y 55 lavadoras.
Los artículos este fin de semana se distribuyeron en los sectores de Bella Colina, Arrollo Bonito y Manoguayabo. También se hizo acto de entrega en Las Caobas, El Quilombo, La Cienaga y Chumplun, entre otros.
Daños por lluvias
Se recuerda que el pasado mes de noviembre, las fuertes lluvias producto de un disturbio tropical que afectó el país, provocaron fuertes inundaciones en gran parte del territorio nacional. Entre las zonas más afectadas se encuentran diversos sectores del Gran Santo Domingo y El Bajo Yuna.
El Centro de Operaciones de Emergencia (COE) indicó que producto de las inundaciones por los fuertes aguaceros, fallecieron al menos 33 personas.
Así como sucedió en Manoguayabo, más de una decena de familias en el sector El Café de Herrera, en Santo Domingo Oeste, lo perdieron todo. La fuerte corriente de agua levantó el pavimento de las calles.
Sectores como Las 800 de Los Ríos y la avenida Monumental, en el Distrito Nacional, las fuertes lluvias destruyeron todos los ajuares de los residentes del lugar. Tras este suceso, algunos aún siguen sin recuperarse.
En el sector Roberto Suriel de Los Guaricanos, en Santo Domingo Norte, el desbordamiento de una cañada dejo pérdidas cuantiosas a los residentes del lugar.
Según la Oficina Nacional de Meteorología (Onamet) aquel fatídico día se registraron acumulados de lluvia de 431 milímetros de agua.
